The Eldershire™ Community Vision

The vision of the Eldershire™ Community project is to assist in the development of a network of communities in desirable locations here and abroad that will redefine retirement and the way people live. An Eldershire Community promotes an active, healthful, engaged life-style and underscores the value of living in community.

To this end, these communities are based, in part, on concepts and values of co-housing and eco-villages. Underpinnings for Eldershire Communities rest on the work of a pioneering group led by William H. Thomas, M.D. and his wife Judith Meyers-Thomas and their associates.

An Eldershire Community is warm and welcoming. It provides a caring environment that supports elders and the contributions they can make to their own community as well as to the larger community in which they live.

Eldershire Communities are for all people who seek enjoyment, value, enrichment, and well-being in togetherness, mutual support, exploration, discovery, and the sharing of their time, talents, stories, and legacies.
